Once upon a tick of time, a snow fox curled up next to a crackling fire. It dreamed of a moment of peace amidst a busy December. A moment of calm. That’s what we wanted to gift you this month, too – which is why we’ve crafted three short, serene stories that’ll take you on a journey from tranquil taigas to dreamy deserts and lush caves.
从前，有只雪狐蜷缩在噼啪作响的火堆旁。它梦见一段平静时光，穿插在忙碌的十二月里。这个月，我们同样想送你那样一份礼物。我们为此创作了三则平静的小故事，带你踏上旅程，走过宁静针叶林，行至朦胧沙漠，再深入繁茂洞穴。
Each story takes place in a serene setting that you can revisit again and again by downloading the matching wallpaper. For those who prefer soundscapes to stories, we’ve also made a 1-hour long ambient version of each scene that features only sounds and music from Minecraft. So you can listen to the crackling of the fire, the wind sweeping over the desert, or the drip-drip of dripstone in the background, no matter what you’re doing this December.

CHAPTER ONE – SERENE SNOW

As snow drifts softly down from a grey Overworld sky, and the sun climbs slowly above the horizon, the snow fox slumbers.
雪从主世界暗灰的天空轻轻飘落，太阳从地平线缓缓升起，雪狐还在睡着。
It’s dreaming of a distant cave. A place filled with the drip-drip of dripstone, and the crackle-glow of lava pools. It’s dreaming of the happy chirps a pink axolotl makes, and lush-cave pools filled with glowing squid.
它梦到遥远的洞穴。那里萦绕着滴水石水滴滴落的声音，沐浴着熔岩池迸出的光亮。它梦到美西螈欢快的啁啾声，还有繁茂洞穴里游弋着发光鱿鱼的水潭。
The dream shifts, and now there is sand as far as the snow fox can see. A camel flops down, resting, its ears wiggling as it listens to the shushing noise from the dunes, the distant gurgle of a deep well. The fox remembers the warmth of the sand beneath its paws, the heat of the sun upon its back.
梦境转了场。雪狐眼前只有一望无际的沙子。一只骆驼伏下身子休息，边听沙丘的沙沙声、水井的汩汩声，边摇晃耳朵。雪狐忆记起爪子踩着沙子温热的感觉，忆记起太阳晒得背脊暖洋洋的感觉。

A snowflake lands upon its black nose, and the snow fox uncurls. It stretches beside the fire, relishing the heat upon its fur. The fox is still sleepy, despite the blocky sun rising high in the sky, and it has nowhere to be. It’s happy to stay awhile. To listen to the crackle of the fire, the soft hops of rabbits, the sound of an allay flitting past, red berries clasped tightly in its arms. To sit in the serenity of the snow.
一片雪花落到雪狐的黑鼻子上，雪狐舒展身子，在火堆旁伸了个懒腰，享受着皮毛留驻的温热。一方红日已经升起，雪狐仍是睡眼惺忪，不知该去哪。那在这待一会也很棒。坐在宁静的雪景中，听火堆噼啪作响，兔子蹦蹦跳跳，悦灵紧紧搂着一摞红浆果悠悠掠过。
The snow fox likes watching the snowflakes fall in dazzling patterns. It likes watching them settle upon the grass, turning everything white. It likes curling up beside the warm fire, tucking its nose into its tail, and letting its eyes flutter shut. Now the snow fox can rest, the clouds drifting above it, and slumber soundly in the snow.
雪狐喜欢看着雪花飘落时，凌空绘成眼花缭乱的图案。它喜欢看着雪花落到草地，为万物裹上银装。它喜欢蜷在温暖的火堆旁，鼻子埋进尾巴里。现在，雪狐可以休憩了。天上白云悠悠飘了远，雪里雪狐美美入了梦。
CHAPTER TWO – GLOWING CAVE
第二章 – 荧光洞穴

The snow fox lifts its nose to the air, and blinks. It stands before a cave, the entrance perfectly snow fox-sized, and something within is glowing. It’s a rich, yellow light. A warm light, and it beckons the little snow fox inside. The snow fox wants to sleep, wants to curl up and dream, and it knows this will be a nice, warm place to rest. It can hear the happy gurgle of water, the gentle squeak of bats as it steps inside, white paws padding from dirt blocks to stone, and then onto the soft, pillowy blocks of moss.
雪狐扬起鼻子，眨着眼睛。它正站在洞穴前面，洞口刚巧能钻过一只雪狐，里面像有什么东西在发光。那亮光黄灿灿、暖洋洋的，勾着小雪狐到里面去。雪狐想睡觉了，想蜷成一团美美入梦，它知道这地方温暖惬意，是个休息的好地方。走入洞口，它能听到水欢快地汩汩流，蝙蝠温婉地吱吱叫。雪白的爪子轻轻踩过泥土，踩过石头，最后踩到枕头般柔软的苔藓块上。
Everything is aglow.
万物都冒着辉光。
Berries hang on great, thick vines, covering the ceiling in soft orbs of light. There are flowers in this cave too; wide, pink flowers that hang from the ceiling, the center of them bright and yellow. They are the color of rich, desert sunsets. The color of crackling fires in snowy taiga biomes. The snow fox watches the spore particles that drift from the ceiling, mesmerized by the fleeting patterns they paint mid-air. They could almost be snowflakes, melting into the moss below.
浆果挂在繁盛的藤蔓上，像发光的柔软小球，掩着洞顶。洞里也有花，宽大的粉红色花悬在洞顶，中心是黄色的，发着光。那颜色，似沙漠里的浓墨重彩的日落，似积雪针叶林中噼啪作响的火堆。雪狐望着孢子颗粒自洞顶飘落，着迷于它们刹那间在半空中绘就的图案。然后，如雪花一样，消融在下方苔藓里。

Somewhere, water is bubbling, and the snow fox pads towards it. The snow fox reaches a pool of deep, clear water. There are glow squid here, spinning and twirling, turning the water luminescent. Nearby, a pink axolotl pokes its head above the water, chirping. The snow fox feels welcome here, lulled by the gentle glow, the soft sounds of the axolotl, the gentle splashing as it hops in and out of the water. There is lava nearby too, the fox can hear it crackling, gurgling. It sounds like a campfire, and the snow fox can curl up at last, and dream of crackling fires. And sandy, desert sunsets. And distant, snowy taigas.
一隅传来水的汩汩声，雪狐朝那轻轻走去。雪狐来到一汪深而清澈的水旁。水里游着发光鱿鱼，时而猛猛旋，时而轻轻转，让整潭水透着幽幽冷光。一旁还有粉红色的美西螈，从水面冒出头来，啁啾啁啾叫。雪狐待在这里，觉得很是安适。柔和的光线、美西螈软绵的叫声，还有跃入跃出水面轻柔的扑通声，都能让心灵宁静下来。附近还有熔岩，雪狐听得到熔岩在噼啪迸裂，汩汩流淌。这声音像营火。而后，雪狐终于蜷缩起来入了梦，梦里有噼啪作响的火堆，有沙尘质感的沙漠日落，有遥远的积雪针叶林。

There is warm sand beneath the snow fox’s paws. The sun begins to dip towards the horizon, painting the desert in swathes of orange, and purple, of yellow and pink. The snow fox is a long way from home, and yet it feels happy as it watches the sunset spill slowly over the horizon, as it watches its friend the camel flop onto the warm sand and curl its long legs beneath it, its ears flapping happily.
雪狐的脚掌踏着温热的沙子。太阳缓缓没入地平线，给沙漠染上了橙色与紫色，染上了黄色与粉色。纵然离家很远，但能看到夕阳缓缓浸润地平线，看到骆驼朋友在温热的沙子上摇摇晃晃地走，累了把长长的腿叠到身下休息，雪狐还是觉得很开心，耳朵欢快地扇呀扇。
There is more to this faraway place than the snow fox knew, for the warm sand hides gurgling wells and echoing temples, as well as tall, camel friends that pad softly atop the shifting surface. The snow fox likes the sand. It has spent the day leaping high into the air and feeling the soft, sinking surface beneath its paws as it lands. An entire day exploring, and still there is the gentle hop, hop, of rabbits snuffling about, ambling slowly across the dunes. The snow fox is too tired to chase them any longer. For now, it’s happy to feel the last of the sun's warmth against its belly and listen to the gentle snuffle of the camel's breath, rising and falling in time with its own, sleepy breaths.
温热的沙子间藏着汩汩的水井和寂寥的神殿，骆驼朋友在流变的沙子上轻轻行走⸺这片寂远之地远比雪狐所知的要有意思得多。雪狐喜欢沙子。这一整天，它不断高高跃起，体验爪子落回沙子上时，那软绵到陷下去的感觉。探索了一整天，仍能看到有兔子轻轻跳过来蹦过去，这里闻闻那里嗅嗅，缓缓穿行在沙丘间。雪狐已经精疲力竭，追不动它们了，现在正摊开肚皮，愉快感受着太阳传来的最后一波温热，又听着骆驼轻缓的呼吸声。那声音随着它睡梦时的呼吸，起起伏伏。

The sunset is glowing, the blocky sun dipping lower and lower, and the brightness of it, the richness of it, reminds the snow fox of a dream. Of a crackling fire, deep in the snowy taiga. Of a cave aglow with berries, and a pink flower, the color of this spilling, desert sunset. That's what the snow fox will dream of, as it tucks its nose to its tail, and sleeps on this warm, sandy bed.
落日正散出余晖。一方残阳缓缓落下，光亮慢慢散去，光彩也渐渐淡去，这让雪狐想起了一场梦。梦里有火堆，在积雪针叶林深处噼啪作响；有浆果照亮的洞穴，点缀着粉红娇花，那颜色与这沙漠日落泼洒出的色彩颇似。这便是雪狐的梦境。此刻，它已把头埋进尾巴，在这沙子铺成的温暖床铺上睡着了。
