我的首次深暗之域冒险
How bad could it be?
能有多糟糕呢？
I have a confession to make: I have never been to the Deep Dark – one of. I haven't even tried, actually. I've seen the Deep Dark trailers, and that's convinced me that I don't ever need to find it – just knowing it's down there, somewhere deep below the ground, is enough for me, and if I ever need diamonds, I dig down, I get diamonds, and I leave IMMEDIATELY.
首先我得坦白一件事：我还没有去过深暗之域，一次都没。甚至我一直都还没有要去尝试的打算。我也看过深暗之域的宣传片了，但那只会让我更加坚定自己完全没有必要去寻找这一群系 —— 能知道它就深埋于地下的某个幽暗角落，对我来说就已经足够了。所以哪怕我需要钻石，我也只会原地向下挖，挖到钻石后就立即回到地表。

So, I covered myself in diamond armor, pickaxe at the ready, and prepared to dig a really big and horribly deep hole to go and face my nightmares. All for you, dear readers. All for you...
但现在必须做出改变了。原因也很简单，要写一篇关于 Minecraft 的短篇故事，《有关于一位并不想去深暗之域的玩家的首次探险之旅》无疑就是最好的选题。因此，我全副武装，带上了钻石盔甲，也准备好了钻石镐，计划着挖一个大到吓人的深坑，然后直面梦魇。这一切可都是为了亲爱的读者们呐……

So far, so good. Why are people so scared of this biome anyway?
到目前为止都一切正常。所以为什么人们都觉得这个群系很可怕呢？
Luckily, I knew where the closest Deep Dark biome was, having accidentally brushed up against it once while searching for underground goodies, so it didn't take long to find it. It took longer to convince myself to jump in, of course, like a kid on their first swimming lesson, standing at the side of the pool thinking "Oh, this is how I die."
幸运的是，因为我曾在地下搜寻战利品时偶然瞥见了一处深暗之域群系，所以我知道最近的一处地点，要找到这个群系也就没花多少时间。当然，我花了有一阵才最终下定决心跳进去，就像第一次参加游泳课的小孩，站在泳池边念叨着“哦天，我要淹死在这个地方了”。
I had with me a companion so that I had someone to leave behind as bait if a warden would find u... er, I mean, so that I had moral support, of course. And, as it turned out, this was no ordinary Deep Dark – there was an ancient city, too! It was almost enough to make me actually want to venture into this nightmare.
我带上了一名同伴，这样在监守者发现我们时就能把他扔下来当诱……呃，我是指“这样我就有了精神上的支持”，对，是这样的。紧接着我发现这不是一个普通的深暗之域 —— 在里面还有着一座远古城市！这更激发了我想要在这片噩梦般的领地上探索的欲望。
Once we stepped onto the sculk floor, I was ready to be immediately annihilated, but to my surprise... nothing happened! It was just a beautiful, wide open space, lit by flickering candles and the pale glow of the teal sculk sensors. I remembered my training and immediately crouched so that we wouldn't set off the sculk sensors enough to summon a warden. And for the first couple of minutes, everything worked perfectly.
在踏足上这片遍布幽匿块的领地的一瞬间，我已经准备好随时汗毛倒竖了，但事情的发展出乎我的意料……竟然无事发生！周围的环境竟透露着一股别样的美，在一大片开阔的空间中，蜡烛的火焰跳动着，幽匿感测体也闪烁着苍白的光芒。我还有着上次训练*的印象，所以立即蹲下身子潜行，这样就能够保证自己不会触发幽匿感测体，也就能避免引发监守者的出现。在起初的一些时间里，一切都很顺利。

OH NO, OH NO NO NO NO

Oh, there it is! Did I say "Oh no" already?
哦天，它在这里！我刚刚也有说过一遍“哦不”了吧？
I could hear the clicking before I even saw it. The pulsing darkness made it impossible to see where it was, so my "run away!" plan wasn't really possible. I tried throwing another egg, but because I couldn't see where this otherwordly mob was, I threw it right next to me. The "it" was, of course, a warden.
在我还没能看到它之前，耳朵里就已传来了咔哒声。周边闪烁着的黑暗让一切都难以辨认，也让我的逃跑计划变得难以实施。于是我试着又扔了一只鸡蛋，但在我无法确定这只骇人生物方位的情况下，我还是丢中了它。自然，这里的“它”就是那只监守者。
That's when it began to scream. Did all the chickens give it a migraine? Had I intruded upon its hallowed ground? The story doesn't tell, but coincidentally, this was also the moment when I realized that I was right not to come down here in the first place. I had no choice but to stay very, very still.
旋即它开始咆哮。是因为那些小鸡吵到它了吗？还是因为我侵入了它的领地？关于这点无从得知，但正是在这一刻，我才意识到从一开始，我就不该想着来到这里。此刻的我已别无选择，只能原地立正。
I finally spotted it lumbering over to me, its ominous heartbeat increasing. I had one of those Jurassic Park -type moments when the massive creature was standing right over me, sniffing, glowing, and generally making all the blood in my body turn to stone. Just when I thought my Jurassic moment was going to end with me getting out alive... I died. I guess it found me after all. Or rather – screamed at me so loudly that my soul left my blocky body.
最终我还是看到它跌跌撞撞地向我奔来，而它那散发着不祥气息的心跳声也越来越强烈。有那么一瞬间，我感觉像来到了《侏罗纪公园》的片场，因为这个大怪物就站在我面前，发出吸鼻子的声音，还散发着诡异的荧光，让我感觉全身血液都要凝固了。就在我以为也能像侏罗纪公园的主角那样最终奇迹生还时……我原地暴毙了。我猜，最后我还是被这个大家伙注意到了。又或者是它的尖啸害得我那方块身体也灵魂出窍了。
Did I shower this morning? Can the Warden smell me...?
我今天早上洗澡了吧？监守者应该闻不到我的气味吧……？
WELL, THIS IS HOW I PERISH!
好吧！这就是我倒下的全过程！
Honestly, I don't know what I expected, but I had a good run!
其实我也不知道自己在期待个什么，但总的来说，我的这次冒险经历还可以！
Well. That'll teach me to go to the big scary place with nothing but eggs and hope!
总之，这件事教会了我，在前往空旷且吓人的场所时一定要怀揣希望！还有鸡蛋！
I don't know if this experience has left me braver, wiser, or just more experienced – but I feel like it can't get much worse than my first experience. Maybe I'll go back someday. I just don't think I'll take eggs next time.
我并不清楚这次经历有没有让我变得更加的勇敢、理智，或者只是更有经验 —— 但我觉得这次经历也仅仅是照应了“万事开头难”罢了。或许在未来的某一天，我还会来到这里。只是下一次我一定不会再带鸡蛋了。
